Co-facilitated by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development (MLITSD) and Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS) Learn the simple steps when hiring new workers, to ensure that everyone returns home safe at the end of the day.
We will inform you on what the law requires, as well as, what resources you need and where to find them in order to stay in compliance and increase the safety in your business.
Presenters: Zoie Sutherland is an Account Representative – Small Business with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services and has over twenty-five years of experience in health & safety. She connects with various community organizations in northeastern Ontario to share the many simple safety solutions that WSPS has to offer. Zoie’s focus is to provide Small Business Owners with easy, accessible tools & resources to help them get started on their road to health and safety.
Stella Nicastro-Greenough is a Small Business Account Representative with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services and has over seventeen years’ experience assisting customers with their health & safety needs. Stella collaborates with small businesses and community organizations in the Central West region to ensure they have access to the information, tools, and resources they need to work safely.
Ms Adina Croitoru is the Small Business Program Specialist with the Occupational Health and Safety Branch in the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. Her role includes providing interpretation of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations and presents the Ministry’s position on small business health and safety issues. Adina is experienced in creating, implementing, and evaluating practical approaches to increase the OHS awareness and compliance for businesses with less than 50 workers.
