The Royal is one of Canada’s foremost mental health care and academic health science centres. Their primary goal is to expedite the recovery process for individuals living with mental illness. By combining specialized mental health care, advocacy, research, and education, The Royal strives to transform the lives of those with complex and treatment-resistant mental illness. Affiliated with the University of Ottawa, The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research conducts valuable research in the field. The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health plays a crucial role in raising funds to support The Royal’s work.
