Terence J. McConnell is a seasoned senior executive experienced in international business development and operations, geospatial and geophysical survey, and aviation operations. Formerly at Dutch Multinational Fugro NV, he led digital transformation and global operations. With a career working and living across six continents, Terry brings expertise in strategy, stakeholder engagement, communications and organizational change. 

More recently, as the Lead of the Decade Coordination Office for Ocean Observing under the UN Ocean Decade, he has worked to advance global strategies to strengthen ocean observing systems, championing digital ocean data ecosystems, private sector engagement, and innovative finance.  His work bridges science, policy, and industry to promote sustainable innovation and support the blue economy through improved ocean knowledge and observation.
