Sean Webster is a senior public affairs and government relations executive with over 35 years experience in Canada, the United States and Europe. Sean’s ability to navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes has been a hallmark of his career. Whether addressing the challenges of intergovernmental relations or spearheading stakeholder engagement strategies, he has consistently demonstrated an ability for building consensus and driving results. His work has been characterized by a strategic approach that balances immediate needs with long-term vision, ensuring that initiatives not only address current issues but also lay the groundwork for sustainable progress. Sean most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Premier of Ontario and Head of the Ontario Office in Ottawa. In this position, his mandate was to establish Ontario’s regional office in Ottawa, where he was responsible for liaising between Queen's Park and the federal government, the City of Ottawa and other municipalities in eastern Ontario, as well as key business and community stakeholders in the region. During his tenure, Sean cultivated strong partnerships, fostering collaborative initiatives that bridged provincial and local priorities. Sean has also served as Vice President Government and Stakeholder Relations for Canopy Growth Corporation, a leading licensed producer of cannabis products, where he was responsible for driving the company’s ongoing advocacy engagements with the federal government, provincial governments, and key municipalities, in the lead-up to and following the 2018 legalization of cannabis for adult recreational consumption in Canada. He has also held similar leadership positions at Shoppers Drug Mart, Eli Lilly, Enbridge, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He began his career as a Ministerial Assistant at the House of Commons in Ottawa. In 2023 Sean was the candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario in a by-election in the Kanata-Carleton provincial electoral district. Throughout his career, Sean has been recognized for his commitment to mentorship and leadership development, dedicating time to guide rising professionals in the fields of public affairs and government relations. His efforts have not only shaped the next generation of leaders but also reinforced his belief in the value of knowledge-sharing as a cornerstone of professional growth.
