Arbru Solar Brewery is Canada’s first 100% solar-powered brewery, founded in 2022 by Phil Audet. Combining his expertise in solar energy and passion for craft beer, Phil designed the facility to operate entirely off-grid using renewable technology. Located in a 2,400-square-foot building, Arbru is powered by 32 solar panels that generate approximately 13,000 watts of electricity—enough to run all operations without a backup generator. Even during severe weather or power outages, the brewery remains fully operational, with Phil able to monitor and distribute power via a smartphone app.
