The Forget Me Not Open Golf Tournament Returns June 19 in Support of Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville
Taking place on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the beautiful Cedar Valley Golf & Country Club (7041 County Road 29, Brockville), the tournament promises a fun-filled day of golf, games, prizes, and community spirit — all while raising critical funds to support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias throughout Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville.
The event begins with registration at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start. Participants are encouraged to gather a foursome and enjoy 13 holes of golf with cart included, along with snacks, on-course games, a silent auction, and a BBQ banquet.
Registration is $100 per player, and spots are filling quickly.
This year’s presenting sponsor, Scotiabank, is helping make an even greater impact by matching the registration fees of the first 30 golfers. Scotiabank team members will also be onsite throughout the event with games, giveaways, and swag for participants.
Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias continue to place increasing strain on families, caregivers, and healthcare systems across the region. Every three seconds, someone in the world is diagnosed with dementia, and locally, more families than ever are turning to the Alzheimer Society for support, education, respite, and care.
In 2025 alone, the Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville delivered:
•6,953 Adult Day Program visits
•590 overnight respite stays
•More than 6,252 education and support sessions
•Over 72,000 hours of dementia-related care and support
•725 Minds in Motion and facilitated education sessions
These programs provide meaningful social connection, cognitive stimulation, caregiver support, and vital respite services that help individuals remain safely and comfortably in their communities for as long as possible.
“The Forget Me Not Open is more than just a golf tournament — it’s a community coming together to support families navigating dementia,” said Sarah Cavanagh of the Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville. “Every dollar raised directly supports local programs and services that improve quality of life for people living with dementia and the caregivers who support them every day.”
The Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville is a charitable organization providing free and low-cost dementia programming across Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville.
With offices in Carleton Place, Almonte, Smiths Falls, Perth, and Brockville, the organization offers Adult Day Programs, Overnight Stay Care, caregiver support groups, Dementia Friendly Communities Training, and community education programs. Investment in these services strengthens the entire community by helping families care for loved ones at home longer, reducing caregiver burnout, and building more dementia-friendly communities through education, awareness, and compassion.
Golfers can register and pay in person at participating Scotiabank branches in Brockville, Kemptville, or Perth.
